WELCOME TO CHEOY LEE YACHTS AUSTRALIA

CHEOY LEE LUXURY YACHTS

Cheoy Lee have been continuous boat-builders for over 135 years building a whole variety of smaller ships from ocean-going tugs, Australian designed large catamaran ferries, landing craft, tankers, patrol boats and a range of luxury ocean-going yachts.

In the early 60's Cheoy Lee was a pioneer in the development, testing and use of fibreglass in vessel construction followed by GRP/foam sandwich construction, the main method of today's construction for luxury yachts.

Cheoy Lee Yachts Australia is ideally located at the Palazzo Versace Marina on the Gold Coast.

Cheoy Lee Shipyards build a large number of commercial and luxury pleasure craft.

Commersial vessels such as ocean-going tugs, special-purpose vessels for oil & gas pipe-laying and service vessels that are built for the operators on the North-West shelf of Australia, haulage tugs for the Panama Canal Authority, Patrol and Pilot vessels for many countries including Australia are all part of the Cheoy Lee ship-building business.

Seperate factories all within the same complex specialise in steel hulls, aluminium, fibreglass and now composite materials.  Expertise from these operations is available and part of the Luxury Yacht Division.  This is why the Cheoy Lee engine rooms are simply so well 'put together'.  It is the know-how from all the other sections of the company that is used in the Super-Yacht Yard.

One of the world's latest luxury yachts, the MARCO POLO, was built in the Cheoy Lee yard.  It is a steel hull with composite superstructure, the combination of which was only possible in two yards in the world.  Cheoy Lee was awarded the construction due to their experience and expertise.

The BRAVO Luxury Motor Yacht Range:
The Luxury Yacht Division has recently added a number of new vessels to the range.  In the BRAVO Range the new Bravo 78 Sports Motor Yacht made its debut at the Miami Boat Show and is soon to be followed by the all-new Bravo 88.
Both these vessels are supplied only in Superior, luxury fitout.

The SERENITY Series:
This completely new range relates back to the early days of Cheoy Lee - famous for their long-distance, ocean-crossing cruise vessels of even 50 years ago, vessels that became renowned for their reliability, safe sea-keeping qualities and for plain good-old-fashioned comfort.
The first vessel in the new Range, the SERENITY 68 was recently sold in Australia.

The smallest vessel of the new range, the exciting SERENITY 59 is now in production.  First vessel again will be received by Cheoy Lee, Australia early in 2011.
Watch for it because it will be revolutionary.
Long-distance cruising with the ease of Ocean-Adaptive Joystick Control, the comfort of stabilizers, high safe sides for ocean work, lines that are modern and yet timeless as with all Cheoy Lee boats.

The new SERENITY EXPEDITION 90 has been sold and will be delivered to our customer in February 2011.  It is the 'little tramp steamer of the sea', nothing fancy but solidly built and superbly comfortable.

Its 'big sister' the SERENITY EXPEDITION 128 is really your own private island trader!

The SERENITY 83 will be the first of the new Eco-Series Diesel-Electric ships.
See the interesting write-up in Newsletter VOL 7, Fall 2009.
It is expected toward the end of 2011.  This vessel will revolutionise Luxury Yacht propulsion.
All the Serenity Series are displacement vessels.  The new displacement designs are a far cry from the old rolling bilge boats of yesteryear.  Computer design and tank-tested hulls have produced a new style of ocean cruiser.  Cheoy Lee has combined the modern looks of to-day with the time-tested principles of long-distance ocean travel.  Their experience of some 140 years is not without its advantages!

Finally, in the extensive new shipyards many one-off individual design luxury yachts are always in the course of construction.  The custom-built yacht is a large part of the Cheoy Lee boat building business.

You probably do not know this - unless you are lucky enough to have a yacht being built in the Cheoy Lee yard - but the construction progress of each vessel can be viewed by the client using a 'special portal' in the Cheoy Lee website.  Only two companies worldwide offer this service.
The 'workers' are issued with a new pair of white overalls every day and smiling lessons while they work are now part of the on-site training!
